Oracle – Cover Oregon lawsuit debacle and the reviving Oracle jobs in Oregon
The unfortunate spat between the state of Oregon and Oracle over the alleged failure of the Cover Oregon health insurance exchange stands still afresh. The issue witnessed a series of lawsuits filed by either party blaming each other for the Cover Oregon website's failure that was expected to facilitate subsidized rate health insurance for Oregonians and small businesses. The enrollment issues plaguing the website ultimately led to the scrapping of the project in 2015 and thus embarking on a year-long lawsuit series between Oracle and Oregon State. The lawsuits were mutually settled. The company offered a $35 mn package to the state in September 2016, and Oracle agreed to continue their technical and software support to Oregon State.
Apart from their works for the state, Oracle has a sprawling manufacturing unit in Hillsboro that manufactures storage systems and servers, collectively known as 'engineered systems.' The Hillsboro manufacturing plant employs a large workforce, including 130 jobs moved from the Mexico plant in the year 2013. The Oracle jobs in Oregon are continuously expanding, inspiring an impressive number of employees to take up jobs in Hillsboro manufacturing units. Opportunities in Oracle cloud technology are in huge demand, with senior associates in Oracle cloud and Oracle HCM cloud being actively recruited.
